Job opportunity – Office Administrator

 
The Devon Guild of Craftsmen is an educational charity and membership organisation for professional craftspeople from the South West of England. Our base in Bovey Tracey exhibits high quality national and international contemporary craft together with the work of the best makers from the South West.  Our education outreach programme includes maker residencies in schools and with other communities, professional development for makers and opportunities for a wide audience to participate in crafts activities.

 
We are currently looking to recruit an office administrator to make a key contribution to the smooth running of our operations.  The right person will have excellent organisational and communication skills and experience within digital design/marketing.  Key tasks will include ensuring the efficient running of the office’s administrative systems (including computers, telephones, office equipment and mailings), working with the marketing team to deliver digital communications, providing effective customer service to deal with public enquiries and giving administrative support to other members of staff.
 
This is a permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week.

The Devon Guild of Craftsmen is seeking Trustees to complement the skills of our existing and highly valued Board Members.
You would need to be able to make a commitment to the Guild and have strategic vision, independent judgement, an ability to think creatively and a willingness to speak your mind.  Our priority area for recruitment is for a Trustee with an accounting background, to contribute to our Finance Working Group.  However we are also interested to talk to you if you have experience in planning law or capital development, retail development / online selling, or fundraising.


We are able to pay travel expenses and Trustees will be expected to contribute on average one day per month to include Board meetings, an Annual General Meeting, the annual Board and staff planning day and attendance at exhibitions and events.
