Jacqui Parkinson, exhibition: 'Life, Loss and Laundry' - Fri 24 Jan 2014 -Sun 16 Mar 2014
Riverside gallery, FREE.
Less than a mile from the Devon Guild is Devon House, the site of large laundry that served many grand houses in Victorian and Edwardian times. This exhibition reflects the lives of the laundry workers and how washing, patching and mending resonate through all our lives as metaphors. Jacqui Parkinson has researched and developed this body of work on young women’s lives and work in laundries.
Free entry. Open 7 days a week 10am - 5.30pm
