Penny-Simpson-empty-ceramic-bowl-green flower patternPenny says: 'Living on the edge of Dartmoor, I am influenced by nature and the changing seasons. I try and get in a walk before work every day and notice the succession of flowers and plants as they change through the season. Leaf shapes are a constant source of inspiration. I love oak leaves, which have such a variety of forms and curves, but are always recognisable as oak leaves. Currently, I am seduced by the autumn colours and the brightness of hips and haws in the hedgerows.

I have to admit to being something of a ‘foodie’ and this influences the pots I choose to make.

My potting life started in Japan. I loved eating Japanese food and I
began penny Simpson, green ceramic bowl with food-DGCto notice the wonderful variety of handmade ceramics that the food was presented on. The pots were chosen to complement the food in terms of colour, shape and texture, creating a feast for the eyes as well as for the taste buds.

My pots are made to be used - dishwasher safe and oven-proof. I hope that they will enhance the everyday pleasures of cooking and eating.'

All work is for sale. Price list available.
