Penny says: 'Living on the edge of Dartmoor, I am influenced by nature and the changing seasons. I try and get in a walk before work every day and notice the succession of flowers and plants as they change through the season. Leaf shapes are a constant source of inspiration. I love oak leaves, which have such a variety of forms and curves, but are always recognisable as oak leaves. Currently, I am seduced by the autumn colours and the brightness of hips and haws in the hedgerows.
I have to admit to being something of a ‘foodie’ and this influences the pots I choose to make.
My potting life started in Japan. I loved eating Japanese food and I
began to notice the wonderful variety of handmade ceramics that the food was presented on. The pots were chosen to complement the food in terms of colour, shape and texture, creating a feast for the eyes as well as for the taste buds.
My pots are made to be used - dishwasher safe and oven-proof. I hope that they will enhance the everyday pleasures of cooking and eating.'
All work is for sale. Price list available.
