Occuring on 2 days, your school or learning group has the opportunity to visit a free OPEN DOOR event to support Arts Award participants in the South West..
Our Riverside Gallery at the Devon Guild is showing an exhibition titled 'Hortus – A Dartmoor garden over time'.
HORTUS is Latin for garden - and this exhibition by local artist, Jude Freeman - shows her etchings, drawings and photographs, accompanied by a range of historical information and artefacts about the garden at Hill Farm, one of the
oldest dwellings on Dartmoor.
We will present an enlightening and informative talk about HORTUS where the artist or the co-curator discusses work in the show and ideas behind it. (May 23 & 24.) The event is aimed at supporting schools or groups delivering the Bronze award, however this can be flexible to the required
Sessions may be up to one hour including talk, discussion, questions and a relevant activity about the work on show.
Devon Guild are an ARTS AWARD supporting venue.

Talks can be arranged at different times on these days to suit schools but this would need to be arranged prior to visit. As Hortus is showing in our smaller gallery maximum numbers would be 30.
We also welcome school and group visits to our main gallery exhibitions and can give talks/tours about these if they are open when you visit.
