Becky Crawford | Mixed Media | Devon

Becky makes mixed media artworks mostly in bent wire combined with recycled plastic and driftwood which she finds on her local beaches, along with intricate painted watercolour paper elements.

Her work is often humorous and joyful.

As well as her wire work, she also makes jewellery and mobiles from recycled plastic bottles.

Her ideas start with a story told to her daughter, a scene from real life, a memory or an imagined moment. Nature and the natural world is very important to her and Becky’s work reflects this passion.

Becky’s intention is to bring a smile to peoples' faces when they look at her work. Life can be so serious and she hopes that her artwork reminds you to enjoy the small things like climbing trees, flying kites, getting down into long grass to look at the beautiful shapes of grasses, leaves and flowers or imagining flying up to the stars.

She has made many personalised commissions.

She received a degree in 3D design (ceramics, glass and jewellery design) from the University of Central Lancashire in Preston in 1995.
