On her B.A. (Hons) Degree in Textile Design at the University for the Creative Arts, Farnham, Carol won several Major Design Awards, including Joint Winner of the R.S.A. National Bursary Award Competition the major British Design Accolade. She has sold Hand Printed Silk Scarves to excusive London and American outlets, such as Contemporary and Applied Arts, the Victoria and Albert Museum and Liberty, London, Echo Scarves, New york. She was awarded a Distinction Licentiateship by the Society of Designer Craftsmen. Many of Carol's unique scarves are bought as Collectors' Items and Art Objects, 'Art to Wear', abstract pictures on silk.
'Dallas was amazing'. Carol says. having been selected by the British Crafts Council to show her work at the Dallas Craft Trade Fair. Her collection was also shown at 'Neaman Marcus', a prestigious store in Dallas.
Loving abstraction, geometry and simplicity Carol studied 'Zen' on her Masters Degree at Falmouth University, learning to work with the Soul Centre as the Zen Masters do. This led Carol to a joyous freedom of expression and form, working directly onto the silk to create large and beautiful silk hangings and scarves.
